The Catholic Faith Teaching Manual (Level 1) is a traditional Catholic resource designed for children aged 7–9 preparing for their First Holy Communion. It is the first in a five-level series created for primary school students from Grade 2 through Grade 6, offering a step-by-step introduction to the fundamentals of the Catholic faith. Written with the assumption that learners may have little or no prior knowledge, it is suitable for use in schools, parish programs, and home education. Adults beginning their journey in the Catholic faith will also find it a valuable starting point.
Level 1 contains 15 structured lessons covering Catechism questions, Bible stories, Sacraments, the Lives of the Saints, Prayers, and Church Sacramentals. Throughout the lessons, simple questions help reinforce learning and ensure children remember the truths of the faith. By completing this level, students will gain a solid understanding of Catholic teaching, become familiar with the Sacrament of Holy Communion, and know essential prayers such as the Act of Contrition.
Children are also introduced to the Blessed Trinity, the role of Our Lady, patron saints, feast days, and the meaning of the Consecration at Mass. Visuals, high-quality illustrations, and photographs enrich the lessons, making complex truths accessible and inspiring.
